Joya Numero Uno commercially released. Cigars as a diplomatic gift is not new. Cohiba was once a diplomatic gift before released commercially. The Trinidad brand was founded as a diplomatic gift brand before being commercially released. And Joya de Nicaragua cigars have been used as diplomatic gifts by the Nicaraguan government for decades. The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 has been used. But for the last few years, a special, unreleased blend was the official diplomatic gift of the Nicaraguan government.

Just as Cohiba and Trinidad in the past, the blend will be released commercially. After the intertabac trade show, Joya de Nicaragua distributors worldwide can order the cigars. Up until now, they could only get the cigars for official Joya de Nicaragua events.

Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno

The cigar is made from Nicaraguan fillers and binder. The wrapper is a Connecticut from Ecuador. The cigar will be available in one size only, 6 ⅝ x44 with the name L’Ambassadeur. Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, Joya de Nicaragua’s owner, said: “Numero Uno was developed as a unique gift and later an event-exclusive cigar, and although it wasn’t the original intention, we decided to make Número Uno available to a bigger audience.”

The cigars will get a new ring and updated packaging before the official launch. It will be part of the new collection of the top lines from Joya de Nicaragua. That collection, Obras Maestras, will include the Cuatro Cinco line and the Cinco Decadas as well.

Only 1500 boxes od 25 cigars will be made annually. Only a select few rollers, hand picked by the factory manager Mario Perez, are allowed to roll the cigars. According to Joya de Nicaragua, the cigars won’t be cheap. In most European countries, the cigars will retail for approximately 15 euro per cigar.
