Joya adds a Connecticut to the Antaño series
Joya adds a Connecticut to the Antaño series. And that’s a break from the current Antaño line up, as all current blends are known for their strength and power. Connecticut Shade is generally mild and smooth. But according to the oldest Nicaraguan cigar company, this is a medium-full cigar after all.
Joya de Nicaragua is the oldest Nicaraguan cigar factory. Founded in 1968 and still going strong. Over the years, they made a name for themselves with strong cigars. Yet, they also use Connecticut Shade cigars in their Clasicco blend and the Cabinetta. Both lines are very popular in Europe.
The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970, however, was once the strongest cigar in the world. And the official diplomatic cigar for the Nicaraguan government. A second Joya de Nicaragua Antaño line was created with the Dark Corona. Followed by the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Gran Reserva. And now there’s a third line: Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT. The cigar is made from Nicaraguan fillers and binder. The Connecticut wrapper comes from Ecuador.
The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño series
The original Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 saw the light in 2002. The Dark Corojo version was added 7 years later. And in 2017, Joya de Nicaragua added the Gran Reserva. That was a reblended remake of a 2004 Limited Edition. And now the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT is announced.
A spokesperson for Joya de Nicaragua confirmed to us that the cigars will be available globally. The international release is planned for Intertabac. That’s the largest tobacco trade show in the world and takes place in September. The location of the show is in Dortmund, Germany as always.
The Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT will be available in 4 sizes. All packed in 20 count boxes. Those sizes are 5¼x46 Corona Gorda, 5×52 Robusto, 6×50 Toro, and 6×54 Belicoso.
