J.C. Newman creates a new logo. The Newman family is taking the opportunity of the 125th anniversary to introduce a new logo and branding. Until the end of the year, there will be a temporary 125th-anniversary logo. Starting in 2021, the new logo will be used by J.C. Newman Cigar Company.
J.C Newman’s new logo
“Over the past 125 years, our company branding has evolved considerably,” said Drew Newman. “In 1895, my great-grandfather founded our family business as the J.C. Newman Cigar Company. In 1927, he merged and the company became M. & N. Cigar Manufacturers, Inc. When we moved to Tampa in 1953, the factory was known as Standard Cigar Company. In 1997, we retired M. & N. and Standard and reintroduced the J.C. Newman name and the logo that we have been using until this day. After 23 years, we think that it is time to refresh our branding again.”
“With our new branding, we have kept the historic J.C. Newman Cigar Co. font as a connection to our company’s history,” said Newman. “We modernized and simplified our clock tower logo, which reflects our work to restore our historic El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa. We’ve included 1895 to show our company’s longevity. We choose gold as our primary color to reflect the fact that we handcraft high-quality products and provide exceptional customer service.”

Over recent years, J.C. Newman made it a priority to update the company. The El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa is being renovated. A brand new, modern website is launched. There is a renewed focus on international markets. All the while with remaining respect for the 125-year-old history of the oldest family-owned still operating cigar factory in the United States.
