The newly introduced Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos cigar has officially gone on sale in Andorra, marking a significant addition to the renowned Hoyo de Monterrey brand. The cigar, which measures 5 7/10 inches (145mm) in length with a 49-ring gauge, is classified under the “sutiles” vitola in the formal Cuban cigar naming system. This release is notable for being the first modern Cuban cigar to adopt this specific size, adding a unique dimension to the brand’s portfolio.
Priced at €44.75 ($49.50) per cigar, or €895 ($990) for a box of 20, the Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos is positioned as a premium offering. The cigars are being distributed in Andorra through Maori Tabacs S.A., the official distributor in the region. The pricing reflects the cigar’s exclusivity and the craftsmanship that goes into each piece, catering to discerning smokers who appreciate the finest in Cuban cigars.
Originally announced last year, the Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos was described as a release intended exclusively for travel retail and duty-free outlets. This focus on the travel and luxury market is further emphasized by its distinctive packaging, which includes boxes marketed as “travel humidors.” These specially designed boxes not only enhance the cigar’s appeal but also offer practical benefits for those who travel frequently, ensuring that the cigars remain in optimal condition.
The introduction of the Hoyo de Monterrey Destinos in Andorra highlights the brand’s commitment to innovation while honouring its rich heritage. This release is expected to draw interest from cigar aficionados worldwide, particularly those who value the rarity and exclusivity associated with travel retail offerings. As the first modern Cuban cigar to feature the sutiles vitola, the Destinos is poised to become a sought-after item among collectors and enthusiasts alike.
