For the second time in a week, Hooten Young is announcing a new regular production cigar. This time in a collaboration with Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the factory of industry legend Eladio Diaz. This line is called Operation Gothic Serpent 30th Anniversary. Diaz blended the cigar with a Mexican San Andres binder, Dominican fillers and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. There will be one vitola for now, a 6¼x54 Belicoso.
Operation Gothic Serpent is famous for the movie Black Hawk Down. Norm Hooten, one of the founders of Hooten Young, was part of that fatal mission. Ten percent of the profits of Hooten Young gets donated to charities connected to U.S. military veterans.

The cigars are scheduled to begin shipping to retailers on October 3, the 30th anniversary of the Battle of Mogadishu, the mission that sought to capture two of Aidid’s lieutenants.
