Five hundred years ago, in 1519, the city of Havana was founded as San Cristobal de la Havana. And in 1999, 480 years after the founding of the city, the cigar brand San Cristobal de La Habana was launched in a tribute to the history of the capital of Cuba.

And now, to celebrate the 500th birthday of the City, Habanos released five hundred humidors of the San Cristobal de La Habana 1519. The humidors are designed and crafted by Cuban artists, working for Decuba arte en madera.

Every humidor is handmade by skilled craftsmen. Cuban cedar and Ocume plywood are used, gold plated reinforced hinges and bolts hold the parts together. Each humidor holds a hundred San Cristobal de la Habana Roque cigars, a 6 2/3 x 57 vitola.

Unfortunately, Habanos did not provide pictures with the press release.
