Gurkha is releasing three new lines. Two of those lines will be regular production while the third line is a limited edition.

Gurkha Treinta

Ministry of Cigars Gurkha is releasing three new lines

The most prolific new release is the Gurkha Treinta. That cigar commemorates the 30th anniversary of the purchase of the Gurkha brand by Kaizad Hansotia. He discovered the cigars on a vacation to his native India. He liked them, so he bought all the cigars, the tobacco and the brand for $149. And thirty years later, Hansotia is celebrating that milestone with a new line. Made at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa. That’s the factory from Aganorsa/Casa Fernandez.

The cigars are blended with Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa and Esteli. Corojo 99 and Criollo 98 are included in the filler. The binder is an Aganorsa Corojo 99. The wrapper comes from Ecuador. It’s a Habano Rosado wrapper. And the first 1000 boxes will be special, commemorative boxes.

The regular production cigars will be available in three sizes. Those are Robusto 5×50, Toro 6×54, and Magnum 6×60. But there will be two exclusive sizes that will only be available in a limited edition humidor. Gurkha made 1000 humidors that include 50 cigars. 25 Gurkha Treinta Belicoso of 6 1/4×52 and 25 Gurkha Treinta Figurado of 6¾x52. It is not sure if the humidors are available for international accounts. Gurkha will also release tins with all five sizes as a sampler.

Gurkha Real and Nicaragua Series

The second new Gurkha release is a Dominican made cigar. The production of the Gurkha Real takes place at Tabacalera Las Lavas, a factory that Gurkha uses more often. The cigars are made with Dominican Criollo 98 Ligero and Seco, and Nicaraguan Seco fillers. The binder is a Dominican Olor. The cigar is wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut Share wrapper. The cigars will be available as a 5×52 Robusto, 6×54 Toro, 7×52 Churchill, and 6×60 Magnum.

The latest addition is the Gurkha Nicaragua Series. This is a limited edition. It’s made at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa. The Nicaraguan euro has a Corojo 99 Clara wrapper. The cigar sports a dual binder, both Corojo 99. The fillers are Corojo 99 and Criolla 98. Only the top Gurkha accounts are allowed to buy these cigars. And with a maximum of five boxes.

The cigars will be released in boxes of 20. And in four different vitolas. Those are a 5×52 Robusto, 6×54 Toro, 6×60 Magnum, and 6⅛x52 Belicoso. We reached out to Gurkha to inquire if international markets will be able to order the Gurkha Nicaragua series as well.
