About Gurkha Cigars

Thirty years ago, Kaizad Hansotia was on vacation in India. There he met a man who was selling cigars from a simple stall. The brand was Gurkha. For a few hundred dollars, Hansotia bought the brand and the inventory. He started building a brand using the name. He created a marketing monster with a loyal following and an equally loyal group of haters. There is no other brand in the world that creates more debates on social media between people that love Gurkha and people that hate Gurkha.

But no matter in which group you fall, if a brand survives and thrives for thirty years and is available in more than 70 countries, Hansotia is doing something right. We recently reviewed the Gurkha Treinta.
