SpecialsGurkha Cigars Unveils Anniversary Lines Amidst Controversy: Gurkha 35th Anniversary and Beauty 25th Anniversary
Gurkha Cigars is releasing two lines to commemorate anniversaries. The first is the Gurkha 35th Anniversary, commemorating that Kaizad Hansotia bought Gurkha in 1989. Talking about Hansotia, after his racist remarks on Facebook and his cowardly lies about being hacked, Hansotia promised to sell his shares of the company. Does anybody know if that ever happened?
The Gurkha 35th Anniversary is made at Artista Cigars in the Dominican Republic and are made with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan filler. There will be a 6¾x52 Figurado, a 6×54 Toro and a 6 1/8 x52 Torpedo. You can also get a 150-count humidor which contains 25 of each of the cigars.
“This ornate, piano finish, red humidor will be a great addition to anyone’s cigar and accessory collection,” said Juan Lopez, vp of sales for Gurkha, in a press release. “The cigars inside are even better!”
25 years ago, Gurkha released The Beauty and that’s reason for the Beauty 25th Anniversary which comes in a 6½x60 vitola. The cigar comes in a frosted tube and is made of an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler from Nicaragua, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. There are 25 of these big cigars in a box.
“It’s been 25 years since Gurkha first introduced the Beauty and it’s still a favourite cigar amongst connoisseurs,” said Jim Colucci, president and CEO of Gurkha Cigars, in a press release. “So we decided to do a special release on the Beauty honouring the 25 year anniversary.”
