Fratello adds Piccolo to the Classico line. These 4×34 cigars are a play on the Fratello Classico. The binder and filler is the same, yet with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. “We used a different wrapper on our Classico blend and picked up some great flavors! The combustion and aroma were absolutely incredible.” Fratello owner Omar de Frias said in a press release.

Fratello Classico

This was the first cigar that De Frias released. In 2013, the Fratello Classico saw the light. Made at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. This blend turned out to be the base for the household name Fratello has become in cigar communities worldwide.

The cigars are made with a Habano wrapper from Nicaragua. The binder is Ecuadorian Sumatra. The fillers come from Peru and Nicaragua. Although the Piccolo is part of the Fratello Classico line, it is a tweaked blend. The binder and fillers are the same as the Classico. The wrapper is also Habano but from Ecuador instead of Nicaragua. And the Piccolo comes in boxes of 100 cigars.

We reached out to Omar de Frias to inquire if the cigars would be available globally. De Frias confirmed that international distributors are able to purchase the cigars as well. The first shipments should go out in August of this year. That goes for both the domestic American market as global markets.

Joya de Nicaragua is one of the two factories used by Fratello. Some lines are made at the La Aurora factory on the Dominican Republic as well. Both La Aurora and Joya de Nicaragua are the oldest cigar companies in their respective country.
