Roder, an Austrian national, began his journey with Perdomo Cigars in 1994, just two years after Nick Perdomo started making cigars in his Miami garage. His role as director of international sales was instrumental in transforming Perdomo Cigars from a small operation into a globally recognized brand. Roder’s dedication and hard work helped to establish Perdomo as a powerhouse in the cigar industry.

Throughout his career, Roder travelled extensively to meet with Perdomo distributors worldwide and hosted numerous events at key retailers across the globe. His presence and efforts were pivotal in expanding Perdomo’s reach and building strong relationships with distributors and retailers. His commitment to the brand and his ability to connect with people made him a beloved figure in the cigar community.

In recent years, due to his advancing age, Roder gradually transitioned his responsibilities to Nelson Cuba, who now handles international accounts for Perdomo Cigars with the assistance of Arthur Kemper, the VP of Sales for Perdomo. Roder’s absence was felt at the last InterTabac trade show, marking a significant change for those who had come to associate his jovial presence with the Perdomo booth.

Juergen W. Roder will be deeply missed by the Perdomo family, distributors, retailers, and the many friends he made during his travels to promote the Perdomo brand. His legacy in the cigar industry is marked by his unwavering dedication and the countless relationships he fostered over the years. Roder’s contributions to Perdomo Cigars and the wider cigar community will be remembered with great respect and admiration.

The passing of Juergen W. Roder marks the end of an era for Perdomo Cigars. His influence and impact on the company and the industry at large are immeasurable.
