EQ Premium cigars soon available in France. On May 1st, Bright Leaf Cigars France will introduce the Dominican cigars on the French market. The cigars are made in the Dominican Republic by Henry Cruz. Cruz owns a small boutique factory, Tabacalera El Hoyito in Tamboril, Dominican Republic, where he blends and produces the EQ cigars.

The blends

EQ Cigars has three different blends. And all the blends come in five sizes. All the brands have Dominican fillers, both Habano and Corojo tobaccos are used in the filler. Add a Dominican binder and you have the base of all the EQ Cigars. The real difference is in the wrapper. There is one blend with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, one with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The final blend has a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper.

The sizes available in France are the 7×52 Churchill in all three blends. The cigars are € 16 each. Retailers can choose between cabinets and bundles of 50 cigars. Cabinets and bundles of 25 cigars are also available, just as boxes of 10 and 5 cigars. The same packaging is available for all the other sizes. Those are the 6×50 Torpedo with a price of 12 euro. The Grand Reserva is a 5½x54 Robusto Extra with a price of € 14,50. The 6×50 Perfecto is priced at € 16,50. And finally, the 6×60 Gran Toro with a price tag of € 17,50.

Bright Leaf Cigars

In 2019, Yannick G. Forel founded Bright Leaf Cigars. It is a cigar distribution company for France and Switzerland. The company has an import, storage, and distribution license for France. The cigars are kept in a 150 square meter warehouse with cedar wood walls and perfect conditions to store cigars. Even though it’s a young company, Bright Leaf Cigars employs 6 salespeople to visit the 25.000 tobacconists around France.

Forel was a chef for 40 years. With his abundance of contacts in the culinary world, he is able to host a minimum of 2 cigar dinners a month. All in collaboration with cigar clubs, five-star hotels, and Michelin restaurants. France will be the first country to receive the EQ Cigars from Bright Leaf Cigars, with Switzerland following soon.
