Episode 31: The Philip & Ferdy Cigar Show. Counterfeit cigars are rampant. But it’s mainly a problem for the Cuban brands, with Cohiba as the brand with most counterfeit cigars. Although there are cases of some high-end new world cigars that are counterfeited as well. There are known cases of counterfeit Padron and Arturo Fuente cigars. But these cases are rare. It is safe to say that 99.9% of the counterfeit cigars are counterfeit Cubans. And the majority of those are counterfeit cigars with the Cohiba label. They could be homemade cigars with Cuban tobacco, farm rolls with a band slapped around it, or cigars from other countries. Some are enjoyable, some are horrible. Some contain tobacco, but there are horror stories of counterfeit cigars with floor sweepings, rat droppings, or worse.

In the last few weeks, We are showing what to look out for. What signs are there to see whether your Habanos is real or counterfeit. There is part one with the first simple steps. Part two does in detail about the Cohiba brand. And in part three, more tips and tricks are revealed. Philip and Ferdy show a bunch of high-end counterfeit cigars that have a lot of details right. But the counterfeiters missed a lot of details as well. We point these out, and the guys show some tips on what to look out for.
