EPC releases a trilogy sampler. This sampler is a box with three cigars. All of the cigars have a high rating by Cigar Aficionado. The Pledge Prequal and the Encore Majestic both won the annual Cigar Aficionado Top 24. The Pledge Prequal did so in 2020 while the Encore Majestic won in 2018. The last cigar in the sampler is the La History E-III who was the runner-up in 2014.
This sampler is the perfect way to smoke the three most rewarded cigars from industry legend Ernesto Perez-Carrillo in one go. Lissette Perez-Carrillo, daughter of brand owner Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, says that due to high customer demand for these three particular cigars, the company decided to combine them into a three-pack for better consumer accessibility. Cigar of the Year award-winning cigars are notoriously hard to get due to the high demand.
Top 25
Winning the Cigar Aficionado Top 25 is both a blessing and a curse. Especially for smaller producers such as Ernesto Perez Carrillo and his La Alianza factory. The demand goes through the roof, yet the small scale of the operation makes it impossible to scale production up to the level needed to supply the demand. Smaller manufacturers often don’t have enough of the specific tobacco in storage to comply with demand anyway.
The decision to create this sampler with the two Cigar of the Year winning cigars and the runner-up from 2014 allows cigar enthusiasts to be able to kill the curiosity and try the cigars. The cigars all come from Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. This is the factory Perez-Carrillo opened after his departure at General Cigars.
