Two years ago, the French distributor for Cuban cigars, Coprova, turned 50. And that milestone was supposed to be celebrated with a cigar, the El Rey del Mundo Époque. But as often with Cuban releases, the release date was not met. Coprova expects the cigars finally be able to offer the cigars this summer.

The El Rey del Mundo Époque is a 6½x54 toro, which is the same size as the Montecristo Sublimes Edicion Limitada 2008, Cohiba Sublimes Edicion Limitada 2004 and another French release, the Quai d’Orsay Capitolio. The cigars will come in 10 count boxes, 6000 boxes were made and the retail price will be €26.50 per cigar

Late last year, another celebration cigar for the 50th anniversary hit the markets. That was the Quai d’Orsay Clemenceau. That cigar was also delayed.
