Eiroa comes with Dark and Jamastran. Recently, CLE cigars added two new lines to their portfolio. Those are the Eiroa Dark and the Eiroa Jamastran. For now, the lines are available in the United States only, but according to Christian Eiroa, the cigars should be available for international accounts too. The worldwide release will probably take place during the Intertabac trade show in Dortmund.

The Eiroa Jamastran is a Honduran Puro. All the tobacco comes from the Jamastran region and all from the farms of the Eiroa family. Currently, two sizes are available in the USA. Those are a 5×50 robusto and the Eiroa signature 11/18. The original 11/18 was supposed to be an unbanded cigar and to make it recognizable wanted it to be uniquely shaped. Eiroa created that vitola when he was looking at a marker and replicated that shape. The name comes from his mother’s birthday, November 18th. The 11/18 is a figurado, 6×48/54/48 sized. The cigar is thicker in the middle, but otherwise parejo shaped. In the United States, it is a TAA release, only available at tobacconists who are a member of the Tobacconists’ Association of America.

Ministry of Cigars Eiroa releases dark & jamastran

Eiroa Dark

The Eiroa Dark is a release with high priming Corojo tobacco. The tobacco leaves come from the top of the plants, aka high priming, and therefore are darker than the lower primings. That’s due to the amount of sunlight the leaves are able to catch. And the darkness of the tobacco led to the name Dark. Eiroa said in an e-mail to Ministry of cigars that because the leaves are higher on the plant, they are richer and after fermentation, they yield a darker shade. It is natural darkness, the wrappers are not treated to look as dark as they do.

The cigars are stronger than the other cigars in the CLE portfolio, due to the Honduran Corojo tobacco used for the filler, the binder, and the wrapper. The new blend comes in three sizes, for now, a 5×50 robusto, a 6×54 Toro, and a 6×60 Gordo.
