Celebrating a significant milestone, E.P. Carrillo is set to launch its highly anticipated 15 Year Anniversary Cigar on 15 November 2024. This limited edition cigar commemorates the achievements of legendary cigarmaker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, who established his cigar brand 15 years ago. Known for crafting some of the finest cigars in the industry, Perez-Carrillo and his family have created a unique, single-size blend that showcases rare and aged tobaccos—one of which dates back to the company’s founding.
This special release comes in the Gran Toro size, measuring 6 1/2 inches by a 54-ring gauge. The production is limited to only 5,000 boxes worldwide, with 3,500 reserved for the U.S. market and 1,500 for international retailers. Each box contains 15 cigars, and the recommended retail price is set at $20 per cigar, reflecting the premium quality of the carefully aged tobaccos.
The blend draws on leaves from three different regions. Its wrapper, aged for an impressive 10 years, hails from Mexico’s San Andrés Valley. The filler tobaccos originate from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, aged for several years to ensure depth and complexity. However, the true gem of this cigar is its binder, a 15-year-old Nicaraguan leaf from the Jalapa region—aged as long as the brand itself.
Perez-Carrillo, a Hall of Fame inductee and creator of two Cigar of the Year winners, shared his thoughts on this anniversary release, saying, “This cigar represents our journey over the last 15 years. It reflects the challenges we’ve overcome, the progress we’ve made, and the passion we bring to every cigar we create. We wanted to craft something truly special to commemorate this milestone.”
Rolled at E.P. Carrillo’s Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic, the 15 Year Anniversary Cigar will debut at an event held at 8 to 8 Cigars in Villa Park, Illinois, with wider availability shortly after. For cigar enthusiasts, this release is a tribute to the dedication and artistry that has defined E.P. Carrillo’s legacy over the past 15 years.
