E.P. Carrillo proudly introduces the latest addition to its Essence Series: the E.P. Carrillo Honduras. This exceptional release is poised to captivate cigar enthusiasts with its rich, complex flavour profile, setting a new standard in taste. As the third blend in the Essence Series—following the Sumatra and Maduro—the E.P. Carrillo Honduras represents a significant milestone as the first blend in the series crafted outside of Casa Carrillo, produced exclusively at the esteemed Plasencia factory in Honduras.

Two years ago, we expanded our horizons beyond the Casa Carrillo factory, resulting in the creation of the highly praised INCH Nicaragua in collaboration with Plasencia’s Nicaraguan facility. Today, we are excited to reveal the next chapter in our partnership, delving into the heart of Central America with the E.P. Carrillo Honduras. This blend embodies the rich heritage and unparalleled expertise of both our families,” says Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III, the visionary behind this ambitious project.

The E.P. Carrillo Honduras is more than just a cigar; it is a testament to the fusion of two families’ legacies, brought together by generations of mastery. Each draw from this cigar tells a story of passion and tradition, highlighted by the Honduran Olancho San Agustín (OSA) wrapper. This wrapper is renowned for its unique microclimate and fertile soil, which combine to create a complex and distinctive flavour profile.

The OSA wrapper undergoes a meticulous two-year fermentation process, resulting in a dark, oily sheen that ensures a smooth and consistent smoking experience. Complementing the wrapper is a Honduran binder, with fillers sourced from both Honduras and Nicaragua.

The E.P. Carrillo Honduras will be available in three sizes: Robusto (5×50), Toro (6×52), and Gordo (6×60), with MSRP ranging from $9.25 for the Robusto, $10 for the Toro, and $10.75 for the Gordo. These cigars will be packaged in 24-count boxes, with pre-orders beginning in September and shipments expected to start in late September.

Looking ahead, the Essence Series will continue to grow, with six distinctive blends planned for release over the next few years, each featuring a unique wrapper. Following the launch of the E.P. Carrillo Sumatra at the 2024 PCA and the Maduro, the series will introduce the Honduras blend in late September, with Connecticut, Nicaragua, and Cameroon blends to follow.
