Cigars are a key part of the annual Els for Autism Pro-Am, created by pro golfer Ernie Els and Marvin R. Shanken, publisher of Cigar Aficionado. E.P Carrillo has been a sponsor of the event and Ernesto’s granddaughter Sky was so impressed that she asked her family to help to raise funds.

From December 15 until January 31st, EPC Cigars would donate 98 cents to the charity for each Pledge Prequel sold. The amount is a nod to the 98 point score from Cigar Aficionado. The company expected to raise $30.000 but managed to raise an astonishing $46.256 for the charity.

The company plans to do another campaign in the future, and has launched a charitable initiative known as Carrillo Cares.
