Cigars are a key part of the annual Els for Autism Pro-Am, created by pro golfer Ernie Els and Marvin R. Shanken, publisher of Cigar Aficionado. E.P Carrillo has been a sponsor of the event and Ernesto’s granddaughter Sky was so impressed that she asked her family to help to raise funds.

From December 15 until January 31^st, EPC Cigars would donate 98 cents to the charity for each Pledge Prequel sold. The amount is a nod to the 98 point score from Cigar Aficionado. The company expected to raise $30.000 but managed to raise an astonishing $46.256 for the charity.

The company plans to do another campaign in the future, and has launched a charitable initiative known as Carrillo Cares.
