NewsDunbarton Tobacco & Trust’s Polpetta: A Flavorful Journey through the Unique World of Sandwich-Style Cigars
Author: Inspector X
After a slight delay, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has initiated the shipment of its Polpetta line, initially introduced in late 2019 as an exclusive event cigar but now integrated into the company’s regular production portfolio.
This 4 x 48 vitola cigar features a mixed filler composition, deviating from the conventional long-fillers found in typical cigars. While it maintains a standard wrapper and binder, the filler comprises smaller cuts of tobacco. For Polpetta, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust combines broadleaf cuts from the Mi Querida, Mi Querida Triqui Traca, Umbagog, and Red Meat Lovers lines, along with two long-leaf fillers. The blend is completed with a Mexican San Andrés binder and Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, and the cigars are crafted at the Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. (NACSA) factory in Nicaragua.
Describing the Polpetta, the company emphasized its unique take on the sandwich-style cigar, executed with meticulous attention to detail and employing only the finest ingredients. The cigar is praised for its cool burn, expert rolling, proper draw, ash-holding capabilities, and a flavourful, rich, and robust smoking experience.
Addressing the delay in shipping, Steve Saka, the founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, clarified in a Facebook post that the cigars were ready for approximately three months but were temporarily held back due to the overwhelming demand for other releases like RML (Red Meat Lovers), Krakatoa, and Wagashi. Saka expressed gratitude for his dedicated team, who requested additional time to manage the fulfilment process efficiently.
The Polpetta is priced at an MSRP of $7.30 per cigar, making it the company’s most budget-friendly release to date, according to Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust.
