As the 2024 InterTabac trade fair in Dortmund, Germany approaches, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust has revealed its plans for a new international-exclusive cigar line, aptly named Overseas. This upcoming release marks a significant development for the brand, expanding its offerings beyond the U.S. market.

Overseas will function similarly to Dunbarton’s Muestra de Saka brand, in that each cigar under the Overseas label may feature different blends. The first cigar in this line, Overseas No. 1, is a 6 x 50 toro with a coiled cap. It boasts an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés negro binder, and a rich filler blend from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. These cigars will be available in boxes of 10, though pricing details have yet to be announced.

The cigars will be manufactured by Joya de Nicaragua, who also serves as the distributor for the Overseas line. Though showcased at InterTabac 2024—a trade show focused on international distributors—the cigars are expected to begin shipping early in 2025. Importantly, the Overseas line will be sold globally, excluding the U.S. market.

Steve Saka, the founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, elaborated on the reasoning behind this new line:
“In the U.S., I have the flexibility to regularly share small quantities of some of my favourite new blends. However, due to the complexities of the international market, this has not been possible for our loyal customers abroad. For years, they have had limited access to my small-batch, limited-production cigars. Two years ago, I decided to create a brand specifically for our international customers, offering rare cigars that are not available in the U.S. The Overseas line simplifies the compliance needs of our international distributors while giving me the opportunity to share some of my favourite blends and unique cigars with non-U.S. connoisseurs. This line will provide exclusivity to our international customers, offering them the same level of rarity and craftsmanship that our U.S. fans enjoy.”
