SpecialsDrew Estate Increases H99 Availability
Author: Inspector Z
The Liga Privada H99 is one of the most desirable Liga Privada releases in the last few years. It ranks high on many wish lists but it is very hard to find. Only a very limited quantity of Liga Privada H99 is shipped each month. And each month to different retailers in the Drew Diplomat Retail Program. International markets haven’t seen the Liga Privada H99 at all.
Drew Estate events
But from now until mid-May, there will be boxes of Liga Privada H99 Toro available at each Drew Estate event. That is if the retail location connected to the event is part of the Drew Diplomat Retail Program. So far, the Liga Privada H99 is only available as a 6×52 Toro. But Drew Estate hinted in the past that other vitolas are a possibility for future releases.
The H99 uses a Connecticut grown Corojo wrapper. Where most Liga Privada blends come with a Brazilian Mata Fina binder, the H99 has a Mexican San Andres Negro binder. The filler comes from Honduras and Nicaragua.
Flying Pig
But there is more. If Willy Herrera, Drew Estate’s master blender, is at the events he will bring something special. For these events, Drew Estate is releasing a Herrera Esteli Flying Pig. The cigars have an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Honduran binder. The filler is all Nicaraguan. If a few boxes make their way to selected international markets is yet unclear.
The 4â…›x60 double perfecto is a signature vitola for Drew Estate. Former CEO Steve Saka found the vitola in a catalog of a turn of the century cigar manufacturer in Florida. He fell in love with the shape. Jonathan Drew was told early in his cigar career that he would only be successful when pigs would fly. These two things combined led to the inception of the now-iconic Liga Privada #9 Flying Pig, released in 2009. Since then, many Drew Estate blends saw a Flying Pig. Herrera Esteli Flying Pig is the next in the line-up.
