NewsDrew Estate Expands Deadwood and Nica Rustica Lines with New Releases
Author: Inspector X
This week, Drew Estate is launching exciting additions to its popular Deadwood and Nica Rustica lines, offering cigar aficionados two new sizes to enjoy. Both cigars are distinctive, each catering to different preferences, from a slender lonsdale to a robust gordo.
The first release is the Deadwood The Girl With No Name Lonsdale, measuring 7 x 44. Wrapped in a rich Mexican San Andrés wrapper, the filler blend remains undisclosed. However, previous iterations of this cigar have featured an “exotic” and aromatic mix of aged, dark air-cured tobaccos. The blend’s exact composition for this new release has not been confirmed, but fans can expect the same mysterious allure. Retailing at $11 per cigar, it comes in boxes of 20 and is widely available to all retailers. This marks a significant shift, as earlier releases of The Girl With No Name were often exclusive to larger stores.
Jonathan Drew, co-founder and president of Drew Estate, shared the inspiration behind the GWNN line, reflecting on how the name resonates with the iconic U2 song “Where the Streets Have No Name,” which references the streets of Managua, Nicaragua. Drew described the cigar as “mysterious but familiar,” capturing the essence of the song’s inspiration.
In addition to the Deadwood release, Drew Estate is adding the Nica Rustica Broadleaf Gordo, a 6 x 60 vitola, to its Nica Rustica range. This robust cigar features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and Nicaraguan fillers. Retailing at $7.95 per cigar, it is available in boxes of 25, offering excellent value.
This new Gordo size follows the discontinuation of the Nica Rustica Broadleaf Belly, a gran belicoso, earlier this year. Jonathan Drew emphasised the affordability of the new release, aligning it with the company’s commitment to offering high-quality cigars at accessible prices.
Both releases are set to become staples in the Drew Estate portfolio, appealing to fans of diverse flavour profiles and cigar sizes.
