Crowned Heads to release new Four Kicks. Although, it’s not really a new blend. It is actually a blend that’s almost a decade old. During the blending of the Four Kicks, several test blends were made. And the one that lost the final shifting will now finally be released. That’s the short story behind the Four Kicks Capa Especial.

Four Kicks Capa Especial

According to Crowned Heads founder Jon Huber, this blend is the one that Ernesto Perez Carillo had in mind in the first place. But for the inaugural version, released in 2011, Crowned Heads went for another blend, an all Nicaraguan cigar. The Four Kicks Capa Especial is made with Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. The binder is Nicaraguan. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatra.

Ernesto Perez Carrillo is responsible for the manufacturing of the cigars. Just like the original Four Kicks, the cigars are rolled at La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. Both brands are rolled entubado style with a triple cap. Three sizes have been confirmed. Those are a 5×50 Robusto, a 5 5/8x 56 Corona, and a 6×54 Sublime. There might be another size coming for attendees of the PCA trade show.

Four Kicks

Like other Crowned Heads, the Four Kicks name comes from music. It’s a Kings of Leon song. When the cigar was released, Huber said “Four Kicks is about sticking to your guns and remaining loyal to those whom you love, and the hometown that brought you to the dance. Four Kicks is about turning your back on the corporate machine, and making your own rules.”.

Sticking to your guns and remaining loyal to whom you love and your hometown is what created Crowned Heads. Huber and other managers from CAO decided to create Crowned Heads. The reason was that CAO was forced to move from Nashville to Richmond Virginia. CAO International was acquired by what is now Scandinavian Tobacco Group. They have their base in Virginia and wanted to integrate CAO into the organization. Huber and a few others remained loyal to Nashville and the locals that worked for CAO.
