In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Las Calaveras series, Crowned Heads is unveiling two distinct blends for 2024. This year marks the 11th and 12th editions of the series, which has been a staple in the cigar community since its debut in 2014.

The first release is the standard Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024, a Nicaraguan puro with a rich Habano wrapper. This edition is available in four vitolas: three sold in boxes and one—a Belicoso—exclusively offered in a four-count sampler, which includes one of each cigar. The details of the release are as follows:

• Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 LC48 (6 x 48) — $13.95 per cigar (Box of 24, $334.80). Limited to 1,500 boxes of 24 cigars and 3,000 samplers, totalling 39,000 cigars.
• Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 LC52 (5 x 52) — $14.95 per cigar (Box of 24, $358.80). Limited to 1,500 boxes of 24 cigars and 3,000 samplers, totalling 39,000 cigars.
• Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 LC54 (6 x 54) — $15.95 per cigar (Box of 24, $382.80). Limited to 1,500 boxes of 24 cigars and 3,000 samplers, totalling 39,000 cigars.
• Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 Belicoso Fino (5 1/2 x 52) — Available only in samplers, totalling 3,000 cigars.

The samplers, priced at $56.95, allow enthusiasts to experience each vitola. Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, commented, “When I smoked the final blend for this year’s Las Calaveras, it immediately took me back to the 2015 Las Calaveras profile, which happens to be one of my favourite blends in the series.

Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2024 is anticipated to ship in late June or early July.

The second release is the Las Calaveras Décimo Aniversario, a 6 x 52 toro featuring an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers grown by the García family of My Father Cigars, who also roll the cigars for Crowned Heads. The Décimo Aniversario is limited to 2,500 boxes of 10 cigars, each priced at $18.95. This special edition is expected to ship in late July or early August.

Huber shared his thoughts on this milestone, stating, “Las Calaveras has had such a far-reaching impact upon the cigar community over the last decade that we felt it only fitting to recognize this milestone of the brand. Décimo is an amazing blend, and we’re so grateful to the Garcia family and My Father Cigars for partnering with us on this tribute, and also for what we’ve created together with the Las Calaveras brand.

Las Calaveras is an annual limited edition line that honours those close to the company’s personnel who have passed away. Each year features a different blend available in three or four sizes. The name Las Calaveras derives from La Calavera Catrina, a famous zinc etching by José Guadalupe Posada. This year’s release is dedicated to four individuals, whose initials are featured on the cigar bands, ensuring that their memories are honoured through this special tribute
