Connecticut Shade heading to New Zealand. Three Nicaraguan cigars lines with Connecticut Shade wrappers are confirmed to be released soon. Distributor Canteros has confirmed that he ordered the brand new Sobremesa Brûlée, Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno, and the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT.

Sobremesa Brûlée

Steve Saka, owner, and founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust is an industry veteran. The first serious cigar blogger, a consultant for JR Cigars, CEO for Drew Estate and now a very respected blender with meticulous attention for his blends created this cigar. He was missing the old school Connecticut Shade cigars so he blended one. That’s the Sobremesa Brûlée. The line has three sizes, but only the 6×52 Toro is making its way down under. Canteros owner Grant ‘the cigar merchant’ Ovenden and Steve Saka have been friends since the cigarnexus blogging days.

Joya de Nicaragua

It’s funny, Joya de Nicaragua is known for its strong cigars in America, while in Europe their milder cigars are better known. But recently they released two milder cigars in the United States as well. The Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno and the Joya de Nicaragua Antaño CT. Both are wrapped in Connecticut Shade wrapper.

The Joya de Nicaragua Numero Uno is made from Nicaraguan fillers and binder. The wrapper is a Connecticut from Ecuador. The cigar will be available in one size only, 6 ⅝ x44 with the name L’Ambassadeur. Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, Joya de Nicaragua’s owner, said: “Numero Uno was developed as a unique gift and later an event-exclusive cigar, and although it wasn’t the original intention, we decided to make Número Uno available to a bigger audience.”

The latest Joya de Nicaragua Antaño is a break from the heavy blends in the Antaño line up. It’s a Nicaraguan cigar with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Two of the four sizes will be available via Canteros soon. Those are the5¼x46 Corona Gorda and the 6×50 Toro
