Condega changes artwork on Serie F. In the last few years, Condega has slowly been changing the packaging of their brand from the original artwork. But the company is taking it slow. This with a reason. Condega is an older brand, originally owned by Eduardo Fernandez from Aganorsa Leaf. Under his leadership, the brand became popular in Spain. A few years ago, the Spanish cigar distributor La Casa del Tabaco acquired the rights to Condega for international markets. Since then, the brand has been growing extremely fast.

But comments on the similarity with the artwork of the Cuban Partagas D4 were common. La Casa del Tabaco didn’t want to change the artwork overnight, as the brand was already popular in Spain. New artwork and a new owner would lead to stories about a new blend and might hurt the brand. The decision was made to slowly move towards a new style of artwork.

New artwork

And today is the day that the Serie F line, including the Condega Maduro and the Condega Arsenio, are getting new bands. From now on, Condega will be we will be phasing out the old inventory and replacing it with the new cigar bands as new production is rolled. The boxes remain the same.

Steering away from the is also in step with Condega’s goal of expressing modernity in the look and tradition in the quality craftsmanship of the cigars. Since 2015, the Condega Serie F has evolved to achieve a sense of distinction and its own personality: launching new vitolas (Lancero and Mareva) according to aficionados tastes first and then gradually changing its image in bands and boxes.

The changes

The new cigar bands keep Condega’s characteristic typography and its red and gold colors. The fundamental changes are based on the layout of the graphic and textual elements: on the one hand, the double golden line box in which the name Condega Serie F was circumscribed disappears, leaving now a single golden line that separates the name of the brand from the name of the line in order to give the cigar band a modern, update, cool, sophisticated and minimalist look.

On the other hand, the texts referring to Serie F and Hecho a mano have been lengthened to make them easier to read and, incidentally, to stylize the whole look of the band. In the case of Condega Arsenio, this change also applies to the Edición Especial text.

The aesthetic restyling of the cigar band is accompanied, in all Condega Serie F cigars, by the widespread use of cellophane. This is a material made from cellulose which, unlike plastic, is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The priority objective is protecting all the cigars against possible damage from falls, rubbing, etc., as well as to guarantee maximum safety and hygiene, essential in the pandemic times we have been living through since 2020.
