Two years after the intended release date of 2021, Habanos is finally starting to distribute another crazy expensive Cohiba cigar, the Cohiba Ideales. The first sightings of the cigars were seen in the United Kingdom. The cigar, 6 9/10 x 56 is a double robusto with the factory name Modernas and it comes in boxes that mimic the look of a hardcover book. A box contains 20 cigars and although the recommended retail price in the United Kingdom is £8,000, which translates to £400 per cigar, most retailers hiked up prices due to the high demand of Cuban cigars and the incredible shortages of Cuban cigars worldwide.

Habanos must think “the more bands we put on a cigar, the more money we can ask” as these crazy expensive cigars have three rings: the main Cohiba ring, the Cohiba 55 Aniversário ring for the 55th birthday of Cohiba and the Coleccion Habanos foot band. The Coleccion Habanos is a series of releases in the ‘book-range’ with boxes that mimic hard cover books. There are 3000 boxes available and the boxes are made by DECUBA Arte en Madera of Havana.
