Cigarkings now available in Sweden. The German cigar brand, founded by Philipp Kugler, is now available in the Scandinavian country. Sweden is the third country where the cigars are available. Late last year, CigarKings entered the Indian market. The cigar brand is active in Germany as well.

Cigarkings

At the young age of 20, Philipp Kugler started Cigarkings. As a graphic designer student, Kugler worked at Zechbauer Zigarren in Munchen, Germany. He designed the logo and worked on the cigars. Four years later, Kugler has built a reputation in his home country of Germany. And slowly the Cigarkings brand is gaining momentum in other countries as well.

All the cigars are rolled entubar style. This means that the eight different filler leaves are all rolled into tubes individually, then rolled into the binder and wrapper. This way of rolling secures a perfect draw in each and every cigar. With the entubar method, it’s possible to roll the cigar much tighter than with the book method, which is mostly used. That creates a dense and slow-burning cigar, without a tight draw.

Sweden

During Intertabac, Kugler had a meeting with several interested distributors from all over the world. Amongst them was Karl Martin Brix Nelson from the Swedish Kind Cigars. Kind Cigars is a distributor with several boutique brands in its portfolio. Cigarkings is the latest addition to the portfolio.

The first cigars introduced to Sweden are the Cigarkings Nicaragua Sun Grown Robusto and Coronita FT. The robusto measures 5×50, the Coronita is a 4×40 cigar with a flag tale. The cigars are made with Nicaraguan filler tobacco. Two undisclosed binders are used. Finally, an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper is applied to finish the cigars.

Swedish tour

In a conversation with us Kugler said that he can’t wait to go on a road-tour through Sweden to promote the brand. But with the current covid-19 pandemic, it’s not possible. Travel is restricted, just as gatherings such as cigar tastings. The Swedish cigar aficionados have to wait for a tour. But in the meantime, they can smoke the Cigarkings Nicaragua Sun Grown cigars.
