CigarKings from Germany
Author: Inspector Z
One of the brands we saw this year at Intertabac was CigarKings. The company was started in 2016 by the then only 20 year old Philipp Kugler. Next to his CigarKings, Kugler works as retail store manager for Zechbauer Zigarren in Munchen, Germany.
The cigars from CigarKings are hand made in Nicaragua with the entubar method. This means that the eight different filler leaves are all rolled into tubes individually, then rolled into the binder and wrapper. This way of rolling secures a perfect draw in each and every cigar. With the entubar method it’s possible to roll the cigar much tighter than with the book method, which is mostly used. That creates a dense and slow burning cigar, without a tight draw.
CigarKings currently has two blends. Both consisting of Nicaraguan viso and seco fillers with a double binder from undisclosed origin. As for wrappers, one blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown and the other one is an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro.
Both lines come in four sizes, 5â…œ x44 Corona, 5½x46 Elegantes, 5×50 Robusto and a 6×52 Toro. As for now, Germany is the only country where you can buy these cigars off the shelve.
