Christopher Mey has officially launched a new company, Christopher Mey Premium Cigars, with a focus on introducing New World boutique cigar brands of Nicaraguan origin to the global market. Located near Miami International Airport, Christopher Mey brings over three decades of experience in importing and exporting goods to over 100 countries across five continents.

The flagship brand in the company’s portfolio is Esteban Carreras Cigars, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and unique blends. Owned by Craig Cunningham of Dana Point, California, Esteban Carreras has been a staple in the U.S. market for 20 years and is now expanding its reach globally.

Christopher Mey Premium Cigars is dedicated to elevating the cigar experience for aficionados worldwide, with a strong focus on excellence and attention to detail. Christopher will be available to meet at the InterTabac Fair in Dortmund, Germany, from September 19-21 at the booth of Kopp Tobaccos GmbH & Co. KG.

About Esteban Carreras Cigar Company

Esteban Carreras is the first Nicaraguan brand in Christopher Mey’s portfolio. The brand and its factory, Tabacalera Carreras S.A., located in Estelí, Nicaragua, are owned by Craig Cunningham. For 20 years, the brand has been distributed throughout the U.S. market and is now expanding globally. Esteban Carreras Cigar Company releases one new line each year to maintain the quality of its aged tobaccos and attention to detail in cigar construction. The factory is managed by Gonzalo Puentes, a former Cuban Minister of Tobacco with a PhD in Agriculture and Fermentation of Tobacco from the University of Havana and over 50 years of experience in cigar manufacturing.

About Christopher Mey

Christopher Mey spent ten years training under Nestor Plasencia Sr. and Nestor Andreas Plasencia, gaining expertise in tobacco growing, curing, fermentation, and premium cigar construction. His professional experience includes 21 years as Director of Global Business Development for Rocky Patel Premium Cigars, Inc., where he was involved in all aspects of bringing cigars to market. Before his career in cigars, Christopher led the finance team for the Division of Continuing Professional Education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Kean University, a Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from NJIT, and a Degree in Computer Network Engineering from the Chubb Institute. Christopher enjoys spending quality time with his family. His wife, Irma Mey, and their four daughters—Monica, Michelle, Samantha, and Sophia—are avid clay target shooters.
