NewsChip Goldeen Parts Ways with El Septimo After Three Years
Author: Inspector X
After three years at the helm of sales for luxury cigar brand El Septimo, Chip Goldeen has officially departed from the company. His exit marks the end of a significant chapter in both his career and El Septimo’s ongoing transformation. The news was confirmed by Zaya Younan, the brand’s owner, though no further details regarding Goldeen’s departure have been provided. Efforts to reach Goldeen for comment have been unsuccessful.
Goldeen, who held the position of Director of Sales and Business Development, played a crucial role in expanding El Septimo’s footprint, particularly in the U.S. market. Prior to joining El Septimo in July 2021, Goldeen was best known for his 20-year tenure at Ashton Distributors, Inc., where he served as Vice President of Sales. During his time there, he helped grow the popularity of well-known brands like Ashton, La Aroma de Cuba, and San Cristobal.
When Goldeen joined El Septimo, the brand was relatively unknown in the United States, having been a primarily Swiss label until Younan’s acquisition in 2019. However, under Goldeen’s leadership, the company gained momentum, becoming recognised for its elaborate packaging, luxurious trade show booths, and high-end cigar accessories. The brand’s transformation during this period turned it from a niche name into a prominent player in the U.S. cigar industry.
Goldeen’s last public appearance with El Septimo was at InterTabac 2024 in Dortmund, where the company showcased its products at one of the industry’s largest international trade shows. His departure now leaves many wondering what the next steps will be for both Goldeen and El Septimo, as the brand continues its growth journey.
With Goldeen’s extensive experience and influence, there is much speculation about where his career will take him next in the premium cigar world or that he will retire.
