Casa Cuevas honors the family legacy with Patrimonio. The new regular production line from the Cuevas family will debut next week at Tobacco Plus Expo. The first tobacco trade show takes place in Las Vegas. It’s the first tobacco trade show in over a year.

The cigar is a blend of several countries and several generations. Both Luis Cuevas Sr, his son Luis Cuevas Jr, and grandson Alec Cuevas were involved in the blending process. And they use a Honduran Corojo leaf as the wrapper. The binder comes from Ecuador. The filler is a mix of tobacco from Peru, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. There will be three sizes available. These are a 5×54 Robusto Gordo, 6×52 Toro, and a 6×60 Gordo. The cigars are rolled at the family factory, Tabacalera Las Lavas.

Family tribute

Luis Cuevas Jr. dedicated the blend to his father as a surprise. But also to his grandfather and great-grandfather. That makes this cigar a tribute to the history that the family has in the tobacco trade.

“Patrimonio is a project that is extremely near and dear to my son Alec and myself,” says Cuevas. “When my father left Cuba, he left tobacco behind. Years later, after rebuilding in the U.S.A., he was able to revive our family tobacco history by opening his cigar factory in the Dominican Republic. Because of my father’s perseverance, our family legacy continues to live on.”

The full-bodied cigars come in boxes of 20. The artwork contains an image of Cuevas Sr, Cuevas Jr, and Alec on the inside of the lid. The cigars should be available at retailers in the United States before father’s day.
