Caldwell Cigars has landed down under. Firmin Cigars received their very first shipment from Caldwell Cigar Company. Firmin Cigars is the exclusive distributor for the Caldwell brands.

For now, Firmin opted to focus on the Long Live the King, Long Live the King Mad MoFo, which is the Maduro version of the acclaimed Long Live the King line. They also carry the Midnight Express Per Se, the Eastern Standard Dos Firmas Signature Culebra, The Last Tsar, and The King is Dead.

The cigars

The Caldwell Eastern Standard Dos Firmas Signature Culebras is a 6×30 Culebra with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. The binder and filler are proprietary to Caldwell, who blended the cigars personally. For those that don’t know, a Culebra consists of three skinny cigars curled together like a snake. Culebra is the Spanish word for snake. They are intended to smoke with friends. This cigar is a collaboration between Caldwell and William Ventura. Ventura makes some of Caldwell’s cigars in his factory. The Dos Firmas, meaning ‘two signatures’ is a nod to their collaboration.

The second cigar from Caldwell that Firmin Cigars introduced is the Caldwell Eastern Standard Midnight Express Per Se. This is a 5¾x46 Corona. The cigar is rolled at Tabacalera William Ventura. The filler is Dominican Criollo and Corojo. The binder is Dominican Habano, and the wrapper is Ecuadorian Aracon Maduro.

Long Live the King

The Long Live the King MAD Mofo is the third Long Live the King line. The MAD stands for Maduro, the mofo is self-explanatory. The 6×54 Super Toro and the 6×60 Magnum have landed. The cigar is made with Dominican, Nicaraguan and American filler. The American part of the filler comes from Pennsylvania. The binder is from Indonesia. The wrapper is a Mexican San Andres Maduro.

The MAD Mofo is a play on the already classic Long Live the King line.

And the Long Live the King is introduced in Australia in the 5×50 Lock Stock vitola, which is a belicoso. Wrapper, binder, and filler are Dominican Corojo. But the filler also contains Peruvian Viso Pelo de Oro and Nicaraguan Habano Ligero.

From the acclaimed Last Tsar line, the 7×47 Churchill is available via Firmin Cigars. The blend for this cigar is undisclosed, except for the unique Hybrid Connecticut Arapiraca Maduro wrapper.

Another line that Firmin Cigars is introducing to the Australian market is The King is Dead. The wrapper of this cigar is Dominican Negrito. The binder is Dominican Corojo. The filler is made up from Dominican Negrito Viso, Dominican Corojo Ligero and HVA20/20. All tobaccos are from 2010 or older. Australian cigar aficionados will be able to buy the 4×42 Manzanitas.

One of Caldwell’s latest creations, Caldwell Cigars Savages, will come in a 6×50 Piramides and in a 4¾x52 Super Rothschild. The only known feature of the blend is the wrapper. The wrapper is Habano, the binder and filler are undisclosed.
