When users on social post a photo of a Brick House cigar and use the hashtag #Bricktoberfest, they will enter a competition. With the chance to win one of four weekly prizes. “This promotion has been a yearly success for us, our Brick and Mortar partners, and a lot of fun for our consumers,” said Cristal Lastra, VP of Sales and Marketing at J.C. Only in America

And now for the sad part: only American retailers are eligible. So only American consumers can get their hands on the Bricktoberfest beer steins. The prizes are only available to American based consumers as well. That’s not because J.C. Newman doesn’t want to exclude international Brick House aficionados but due to practical reasons. Cigar swag is illegal in many countries across the world. It’s considered advertising, and advertising tobacco is prohibited all over Europe. Just as in many Asian countries, Australia, and New Zealand just to name a few. That leaves us, the international cigar enthusiasts, looking at America with envy.
