Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) is excited to announce the release of its latest creation, INTERGALACTIC Event Horizon, a limited-edition cigar meticulously handcrafted at the renowned Fabrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua. This new line will begin shipping to select BLK WKS retailers across the United States this week and will also make its way to European markets later in the month. The INTERGALACTIC Event Horizon offers a distinctive experience for cigar aficionados, taking a bolder, darker approach compared to previous releases.
James Brown, the creator of Black Label Trading Company (BLTC) and a partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra, explained that the Event Horizon is designed to showcase a darker side of the Intergalactic series. Unlike its predecessor, the 2022 Sumatra-wrapped Intergalactic, this version is wrapped in Pennsylvania Broadleaf. Brown emphasized how this seemingly small change in the wrapper transforms the cigar’s profile, delivering a rich complexity that is different from anything before. “The Event Horizon is bold and offers flavours of dark fruits, raisins, earth, and star anise. Its long finish features a captivating blend of pepper and chili spice with a subtle touch of sweetness,” said Brown. He also noted the intricate balance of flavours, making it a standout among limited-edition cigars.
The INTERGALACTIC Event Horizon is available in three sizes: Robusto (5.5×50), Toro (6×48), and Petite Corona (4.75×46), each presented in 20-count boxes. The MSRP ranges from $11.00 to $12.00 per cigar, depending on the size. The wrapper is Pennsylvania Broadleaf, while the binder is Ecuador Habano, and the filler is Nicaraguan, ensuring a complex blend that represents the finest tobacco craftsmanship.
This release is yet another testament to the artistic vision and expertise of Fabrica Oveja Negra, which has earned a reputation for producing top-tier boutique cigars. For more details, including a map of retailers offering the new Event Horizon cigars, enthusiasts can visit OvejaNegraCigars.com.
In other news from Black Label Trading Co., the Black Works Studio Killer Bee Buzz Saw, a new 5 x 56 perfecto, was released earlier this week as an exclusive for Smoke Inn of South Florida. This cigar is an evolution of the 2021 Hive sampler, a unique collection that contained new vitolas from Black Works’ bee-themed lines. The Hive sampler, with its hexagonal-shaped box designed to resemble a honeycomb, contained 27 cigars, including four Killer Bee Perfectos.
Now, Black Works Studio brings back the Killer Bee in the form of the Buzz Saw, which features an Ecuadorian maduro wrapper with Connecticut-seed accents, a Nicaraguan binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. It is priced at $9.99 per cigar or $99.95 per box of 10 cigars.
The Buzz Saw has some distinctions from its predecessor, the Killer Bee Perfecto. It comes with its own unique band and has a smaller ring gauge, measuring 5 x 56 compared to the previous 5 x 60. Though the size differs slightly, fans of the 2021 Hive release will recognize the bold, intense flavours that have made this line a favourite.
“Smoke Inn has been a big supporter of Black Works Studio, so we wanted to create something special with our first exclusive release,” said James Brown in a press release. “The Buzz Saw perfecto was a fan favourite from the 2021 Hive release. This cigar is bold and very intense, a great representation of the Killer Bee, and it absolutely deserved an individual release.”
The Buzz Saw became available on Monday, Sept. 23, giving fans a fresh opportunity to enjoy this bold new addition to the Killer Bee line-up.
