Black Label releases Bishops blend. This is the 6th year in a row that Black Label Trading Company is releasing the annual Bishops blend. There will be three sizes, just like last year. A 6¼x46 Corona Larga, a 5×48 Robusto, and a 7×42 Lancero. There are only 400 boxes of the Lancero available for the USA and 600 of each of the other vitolas. How many boxes will reach international distributors of Black Label Trading Company is unknown. But that the cigars are going international is a fact.

The Corona Larga and Robusto have been the sizes of the Bishops blend from the start. The Lancero is a 2020 addition.

“We are very excited about this highly anticipated release,” says James Brown, founder of Black Label Trading Co. “Bishops Blend boasts big bold flavors of anise, pepper, raisins, and a sweet earthiness on the finish. It is very complex and extremely refined. As with the past vintages, the broadleaf fillers shine at the forefront and are perfectly balanced by the Nicaraguan filler tobaccos.”

Belgium

Starting today Black Label Trading Company’s (BLTC) yearly Limited Edition Bishops Blend will be available in Belgium and Luxembourg through Media Rueda. Bishops Blend is hand crafted in Estelí, Nicaragua at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

“Through some keen logistics planning we are able to announce the availability of BLTC Bishops Blend in Belgium and Luxembourg on the same day they become available in the USA,” says Pieter De Windt, partner with Media Rueda, “Bishops Blend is one of the most anticipated releases from BLTC every year. It represents everything BLTC stands for: a bold and dark cigar, yet complex and refined. We are happy our local aficionados will be able to savor these cigars without having to rely on friends to bring them over from the United States.”

More news for Belux

BLTC Lawless is one of the original core lines introduced in 2013. In 2019 it received new packaging and the blend was slightly tweaked.

“I’m very excited for the re-boot of the BLTC Core Line. Black Label is celebrating its six-year anniversary and it was time to change things up a bit. I believe every cigar has its own personality and tells a story. I wanted to give our core products the chance to tell that story through unique artwork for each line. It was also time to tweak the blends a bit. The blends didn’t change, I just played with different proportions of the original tobaccos creating a new, unique version of the cigars,” said James Brown at the time.

“Lawless was the one core line from BLTC still missing from our portfolio. With this addition, we now offer all core BLTC product lines to our retail partners, while we continue to bring along the Limited Editions. Lawless is a medium-full cigar with a great flavor profile, offering notes of cocoa, espresso, freshly ground coffee, and cedar, sitting on a rich earthy background. It may be my favorite core line!”, said Pieter De Windt.

The wrapper of the Lawless is Habano from Ecuador. The binder and filler are Nicaraguan. The Lawless comes in a 5×54 Robusto with a retail price of €11.90 and a 7×48 Churchill with a price tag of €13.

Black works Hyena in Belgium

Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) Hyena was announced earlier this year and is now also available in Belgium and Luxembourg through Media Rueda.

“Hyena is the latest addition to the BLK WKS portfolio. A truly unique cigar that is focused on showcasing a perfect balance between Nicaraguan fillers and the Cameroon wrapper. The profile is spice forward with white pepper & semi-sweet baking spices blended with herbal notes & cedar. The finish is a blend of bitter cocoa, cream & malt. Hyena is an extremely complex and balanced cigar and is a tribute to our many years of living in Africa,” says James Brown, creator of BLTC & BLK WKS and owner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

“When I first sampled Hyena, I was literally blown away by the craftsmanship that went into the creation of these cigars. It is a true tribute to the quality and complexity of the Cameroon wrapper, blended expertly with everything we love about Nicaraguan tobaccos,” adds Pieter De Windt.

The Hyena is made with Nicaraguan tobacco and an African Cameroon wrapper. It comes in two vitolas. A 5×46 Corona Gorda and a 6½x42 Lonsdale. The retail price in Belgium is €14.90 for the Corona Gorda and €14 for the Lonsdale
