Asylum Releases Martes 13
Asylum releases Martes 13. Martes 13 aka Tuesday the 13th is the Hispanic equivalent of Friday the 13th. The unlucky day. And in the 1980s, you could not pass a movie theater in Mexico City without it playing the movie Martes 13.
Asylum Cigars is now paying tribute to Martes 13 with a limited edition with the same name. In two different vitolas. Limited to 500 bundles of each vitola. Each bundle contains five cigars.
As said, there are two vitolas. One is a 4×48 Short Robusto and the other is a 6×54 Toro. Both are made at the CLE Factory in Danli, Honduras. All the tobacco, wrapper, binder, and filler, is six-year-old Corojo from Honduras.
In a press release, Asylum Cigars says “The superstition around Martes 13 is taken to a different level, to the point where there is a well-known phrase to encourage one from doing anything even remotely risky during the said day “Ni te cases ni te embarques ni de tu casa de apartes”, which roughly translates to “Don’t get married, or travel, or even go far from home”. Although we cannot recommend being so square, we do recommend that you try these cigars. Embrace MARTES 13.”
Asylum Cigars is rushing the cigars to American retailers to be on the shelves on April 13, which happens to be a Tuesday. From the looks of it, the Asylum releases the Martes 13 exclusively on the American market. With only 500 packs of 5 per size, there is not enough to go around to international Asylum Cigars distributors.
