Ashton is known for its cigars. But the brand is making pipe tobacco as well, for the longest time. Many Ashton cigar distributors also distribute the Ashton pipe tobacco blends. But not all. Royal Cigar Company in Switzerland is the distributor for Ashton in Switzerland. But up until now, they only distributed the cigars. Now they add the pipe tobacco to the portfolio as well.

The blends

Ashton currently produces seven different blends. All those blends are available in Switzerland. In tins of 50 grams with a retail price of 12.50 CHF. Ashton’s Artisan Blend is a full-bodied English mixture that is carefully crafted for the experienced pipe smoker. Virginia and Turkish tobaccos harmonize with Latakia and a touch of Perique to create a taste that is resoundingly rich, spicy, and satisfying. Consummate Gentleman by Ashton is a proper English mixture composed of only the finest Virginia, Maryland, and Burley tobaccos with a pinch of Latakia. The result is a remarkable blend that is medium-bodied and traditionally English in character. Gold Rush is a pure Virginia blend made of only the most outstanding Virginia tobaccos. Medium-bodied and smooth, this Ashton mixture burns beautifully and renders a natural aroma accented by traces of lemon and honey.

Ashton’s Guilty Pleasure is a glorious mixture of Cavendish, Virginia and Carolina Burley carries an irresistible aroma of vanilla, mango, and exotic citrus. Ashton’s Rainy Day is a savory blend of Virginia and Burley leaf with velvet Black Cavendish. It is aged in whiskey barrels for precisely one month. This mixture smokes smooth and heralds a marvelous aroma of tropical fruit and hickory nuts. Smooth Sailing is a pleasant, palatable, and wonderfully smooth, Ashton’s Smooth Sailing aromatic mixture is slightly nutty, boasting flavors of maple, coconut, and dark chocolate. From Ashton, Winding Road is a mellow mixture designed to bridge the gap between aromatic and English style blends. Comprised of golden and dark brown Virginia with a sprinkling of Black Cavendish, this excellent blend bears a natural fragrance accompanied by subtle notes of caramel and apricot.
