Culebra cigars have an almost mythical status yet not many companies make them. Artesano del Tobacco is adding one, the El Pulpo Octo Ocho. The Culebra is made with three lancero cigars, 7×38, and twisted together when they are still moist. The Octo Ocho follows the same blend as the original El Pulpo with a Mexican San Andres wrapper over Nicaraguan filler and binder. The cigars are made at the San Lotano factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua. The cigars will only be released three times a year, but not in limited quantities.

“The idea came to us a year ago when we were smoking the EL Pulpo pre-release with our friends at Luxury Cigar Club,” said the company in a press release. “They suggested to make a Culebra size for El Pulp cigars to celebrate and highlight this very well-aged San Andreas Maduro Wrapper and to represent the Octopus tentacles. Smoking this twisted Lancero surpassing our prediction and judgment with its outstanding balanced of sweet and full flavours.”
