In the coming year, Apostate Cigars has exciting plans to introduce two fresh additions to its primary line-up.

The initial offering is Moroni’s Trumpet, a 6 1/4 x 56 torpedo crafted with a San Andrés Oscuro wrapper, enveloping a Dominican olor binder and a filler blend featuring Connecticut broadleaf and leaves cultivated in the Dominican Republic. The name of this cigar line draws inspiration from “the spreading of the gospel throughout the world and the long-anticipated Second Coming of the Saviour, which will be announced by trumpet-blowing angels,” as outlined on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints website.

Furthermore, Apostate Cigars will unveil The Endowment, a 6 x 52 toro integrating a Connecticut Desflorado wrapper, a Connecticut broadleaf binder, and filler tobaccos sourced from the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Pennsylvania. As per Wikipedia, an endowment in the Mormon religion is “a two-part ordinance (ceremony) designed for participants to become kings, queens, priests, and priestesses in the afterlife.”

Established in 2012 by Brandon Oveson and Kendrick Woolstenhulme, Apostate Cigars derives its name from a term in Mormon culture that signifies the act of smoking cigars as a deliberate act of rebellion against the church’s teachings, given that tobacco is prohibited in Mormon culture. Both Oveson and Woolstenhulme, originally from Utah, were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known as Mormons.

According to Oveson, both Moroni’s Trumpet and The Endowment will carry a price tag of $20 each, packaged in 12-count bundles, and, consistent with the company’s other lines, will be manufactured at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic. Shipping to retailers is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of the upcoming year.

The official debut of these two cigars is scheduled to take place at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, set for March 23-25 in Las Vegas.
