NewsAlec Bradley Returns to Roots With Safe Keepings Blend
Author: Inspector X
Alec Bradley returns to its blending roots with the introduction of a new line dubbed Safe Keepings, featuring a resurrected blend unearthed from the depths of Alec Bradley’s founder’s blend book.
It’s a common practice among cigar makers to delve into the archives, breathing life into forgotten blends and transforming them into fully realized cigars. The blend in question is a testament to this tradition, crafted exclusively from Nicaraguan tobaccos, boasting a binder and wrapper of Habano-seed from Nicaragua. Nestled within lies a filler blend marrying Criollo ’98 tobaccos sourced from Jalapa, EstelÃ, and Condega.
Bradley Rubin, Alec Bradley’s brand ambassador and son of the brand’s founder Alan, sheds light on the genesis of Safe Keepings, emphasizing its homage to Alec Bradley’s blend heritage while leveraging previously untapped resources. Safe Keepings manifests in four sizes: the Corona, measuring 5 3/8 inches by 46 ring gauge ($10.49); Robusto, sized at 5 by 52 ($12.29); Toro, a 6 by 52 vitola ($13.89); and the substantial 6-by-60 Gordo ($15.19). Packaged in elegant 24-count boxes, these cigars are meticulously handcrafted at Oliva’s Tabolisa factory in Nicaragua, promising aficionados an indulgent smoke.
Expected to hit retailers’ shelves in June, Safe Keepings epitomizes a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. Owned by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, which acquired Alec Bradley the previous year, Safe Keepings finds its distribution channel through the group’s subsidiary, Forged Cigar Co. in the United States and STG outside of the USA.
This launch marks not only a celebration of Alec Bradley’s rich heritage but also a strategic step forward, propelled by the combined expertise and resources of its parent company. As cigar enthusiasts anticipate the release of Safe Keepings, it stands as a testament to the enduring legacy and evolving vision of Alec Bradley in the ever-dynamic world of premium cigars.
