Alec Bradley discontinues three lines. There are two kinds of cigar manufacturers. There are the ones that just focus on a small core selection with maybe an annual limited edition. Other brands or manufacturers release one or more new lines every year. There are pros and cons to each approach. We, as cigar media, prefer the companies that release new blends regularly as it means content. And new cigars to try.

But those kinds of companies will have a portfolio that eventually becomes unmanageable. Unmanageable in terms of stocks, and for the sales representatives it is impossible to give each blend the same attention. Those companies have to make a hard decision every few years. To keep the portfolio streamlined, blends have to die off. Blends and concepts that have been worked on hard and long. Alec Bradley is one of those companies, and they had to make a call on three of their lines.

Discontinuing three lines

Most of the Alec Bradley cigars come from Honduras, from Raices Cubanas. But in 2013 a new Alec Bradley cigar from Nicaragua emerged. Made at the Plasencia Cigars factory. It was an all Nicaraguan cigar with the fitting name Nica Puro. The most famous vitola is the annual small-batch Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut. That cigar is pressed in the shape of a diamond. The line is now phased out, once current stock is gone, the Nica Puro is a cigar from the past.

The Alec Bradley Post Embargo pays tribute to all the great cigars that came on the scene since the embargo. Pre-embargo is a term that you’ll find often in the cigar industry, but with the post embargo, Alec Bradley wants to emphasize all the wonderful cigars from more recent years. The line stems from 2015, and Alec Bradley is ceasing production now.

The first cigar ever launched into space. That was the headline when Alec Bradley released the Alec Bradley Mundial. The line, with only perfecto sizes, went into space with weather balloons and a go-pro camera to record the event. It is the most expensive of all Alec Bradley’s regular production lines. And the Alec Bradley Mundial is a cigar of the past as well.

If these three lines are amongst your favorite Alec Bradley cigars, stock up while you can.
