NewsAlabama-Tennesee Football Game Celebrated With Commemorative Cigar From OZ Family Cigars
Author: Inspector X
Known as the Third Saturday in October, the rivalry between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the University of Tennessee Volunteers is one for the ages. After each game, the winning team celebrates by lighting up a cigar, leading to self-reported NCAA violations.
In honour of this tradition, Nashville-based OZ Family Cigars has introduced The Cigar Game, a box-pressed 6 x 56 version of their Firsat line. This new cigar features the same blend as other vitolas: an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over an Ecuadorian habano, with fillers from Nicaragua. Production takes place at Casa Carrillo in the Dominican Republic.
The Firsat line debuted earlier this year and includes four regular production sizes:
- Firsat F52 (5 x 52) — $12.25 (Box of 20, $245)
- Firsat F54 (7 x 54) — $14 (Box of 20, $280)
- Firsat F50 (6 x 60) — $14.50 (Box of 20, $290)
- Firsat F55 (5 1/2 x 55) — $13.25 (Box of 20, $265)
The MSRP for The Cigar Game is set at $14.95 per cigar, with production limited to 300 boxes of 12. Shipping to stores is set to begin next week.
These cigars carry the Firsat main band but feature the orange and white checkerboard pattern used by Tennessee in the end zones of Neyland Stadium.
For fans looking for a Crimson Tide-themed cigar, R&R Cigars in Tuscaloosa has released various Alabama-themed options over the years. LSU fans may also find interest in Bocock Brothers, which offers officially licensed LSU cigars. However, The Cigar Game is not officially licensed. Interestingly, Tim Ozgener, the founder of OZ Family Cigars, is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California.
Tennessee will host Alabama on October 19
