SpecialsAJ Fernandez to distribute Aging Room Nicaragua

AJ Fernandez to distribute Aging Room Nicaragua for the international markets. A few weeks ago, we published that the Aging Room Nicaragua is coming to The Netherlands. Cigar Aficionado’s #1 cigar of 2019 is soon available there. But it also raised some questions about the distribution.Â
Aging Room is a brand part of the Altadis USA portfolio, even though the cigars are made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez. Altadis is owned by the same investors that have a 50% stake in Habanos. And through Habanos, they have stakes in most Habanos distributors. It’s those distributors that provide international markets with some other Altadis brands. VegaFina is a fine example. Yet, in The Netherlands, another distributor, Longfiller Company, is bringing Aging Room to the market. Longfiller Company is the local distributor for A.J. Fernandez.
Distribution through Fernandez
Those questions are now answered. According to Steven Kron International Sales Director at AJF Cigars, AJF Cigars will distribute the line outside of the United States. AJF Cigars recently opened a new international warehouse with its distributor DOM Cigars in Slovakia. Previously Fernandez used the Belgian distributor Central American Trading as the portal to Europe.
Distribution starts with the Aging Room Nicaragua Maestro. The 6×52 Torpedo is the vitola that Cigar Aficionado rated at #1 cigar of 2019. Kron said that the 5×50 Espressivo and the 6×54 Vibrato are also available. According to Sasja van Horssen from Longfiller Company, he’s also getting the 7×50 Concerto.
The blend
The cigars are Nicaraguan puros. 100% Nicaraguan tobacco, with a Nicaraguan Sumatra wrapper. Made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Esteli, Nicaragua. That’s the largest of the two factories that Fernandez owns in Nicaragua.
