Agio is bringing back the Balmoral Añejo XO Lancero FT. Well, at least as a limited edition for the American market. As lancero fans, we jumped for joy when we heard the news. We reached out to Royal Agio Cigars to see if the relaunch is also scheduled for the International markets. And we didn’t like the reply, only the United States will get a few hundred boxes, no relaunch is scheduled for the International markets.

The Balmoral Añejo XO Lancero FT127 was a limited edition in 2016, and it flew off the shelves. And that for a lancero, a vitola only popular with a small percentage of the cigar smokers and notoriously hard to sell. The demand for lanceros is low, yet the lancero smokers are a dedicated bunch that praises the vitola for the dynamic, the wrapper vs filler ratio. It’s also one of the most difficult cigar sizes to smoke, if you smoke it too fast it will get bitter, smoke too slow and you have to relight again and again.
