Two weeks ago, Moscow celebrated the opening of a new Habanos Lounge. The lounge has the name “No.109” which is a reference to the vitola. It is a rare Habanos factory format that measures 7¼x50

The Cuban ambassador in Russia Julio Antonio Garmendia was the guest of honor during the special opening event. Just as the board of directors of Top Cigars and representatives of Russian cigar clubs. Top Cigars presented everybody with a Romeo y Julieta Robusto. But it would have been much more appropriate to smoke a 109 in a venue with that name.

The lounge

The Habanos Lounge is located at Leningradsky Avenue, No. 35, in the Cigar Noir establishment. The Habanos Lounge has a two-level architecture. The ground floor is a liquor store and tobacconist. The best liquor and a great selection of cigars are found here. There is also a stylish lounge that fits 34 cigar enthusiasts.

The second floor has a VIP lounge. The VIP lounge sits 8 people. The owners are Andrei Yumatov and Andrei Lubiagin. These two gentlemen are well-known within the Russian Habanos community. And because of their love for Cuban cigars, Habanos distributor Top Cigars certified the lounge as a Habanos Lounge.

The 109 vitola is a rare Habanos factory vitola. It is not used often and there is no regular production Habanos in this size. So far, the vitola is only available as edicion limitada or edicion regional. The 109 cigars that Cubatabaco & Habanos released are:
