A new birthday cigar for Rocky Patel. Not for the first time in his career, Rocky Patel celebrates his birthday with a new cigar. He did the same for his 50th and 55th birthday. And there are cigars named after his birthdate and birth year. Last February, Patel turned 60 and this summer he’s releasing the Rocky Patel Sixty. A new three-size line with a fourth size coming. And that fourth size, a half corona, is probably landing in Europe before American cigar enthusiasts can buy them

The cigars are made with a Mexican San Andres wrapper. The rest of the tobacco is all Nicaraguan. The cigars come from Tabacalera Villa Cuba SA also known as Tavicusa. That’s Rocky Patel’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. And the cigars were rolled in 2019. After that, they got to age for 24 months.

When the cigars debut, there will be three sizes. A 5½x50 Robusto. A 6½x52 Toro and a 6×60 Sixty. All come in boxes of 10 cigars. The cigars are all box-pressed.

In the last few years, the PCA formerly known as IPCPR has gotten a lot of criticism. Attendance went down because manufacturers were offering the trade show discounts also to retailers that weren’t attending the show. After four major exhibitors canceled their attendance, many other manufacturers were showing their support for the PCA. They made a pledge to come out with cigars that were only available for those that visit the trade show.

The Rocky Patel Sixty is a line that is part of the multi-brand “PCA exclusive” series of cigars. Retailers can only order these cigars if they attend the trade show this July in Las Vegas. Of course, this does not count for international accounts of Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.
