10th-anniversary humidor from EPC. At the Intertabac trade show, Ernesto Perez Carrillo showcased a limited edition humidor celebrating the 10th anniversary of EPC Cigars. And the humidors come with limited-edition versions of two of his most prestigious and well-received blends.

Ministry of Cigars - 10th-anniversary humidor from EPC

The humidor is filled with 20 cigars. Ten of which are the La Historia brand, the other ten are the Encore. But to make something special, Ernesto Perez Carrillo opted for a vitola that is not regular production. The cigars in the humidors are 6½x56 Perfectos. And they have a foot band with the signature of Ernesto Perez Carrillo, another distinct difference from the regular production cigars. The Swiss distributor for EPC Cigars has secured 30 humidors for the Central European country. The price tag on the humidors is 570 CHF.

10 years of EPC

Even though EPC Cigars is only a decade old, Ernesto Perez Carrillo has a long history in the cigar industry. Before founding EPC, he worked for Scandinavian Tobacco Group/General Cigars. That was part of the deal when General Cigars acquired the La Gloria Cubana brand from Perez Carrillo in the late 1990s. Perez Carrillo made his fame with that small factory in the Little Havana area of Miami, Florida before selling it to General Cigars. The factory, which is now a shop and lounge, was the neighbor of Don Pepin Garcia’s El Rey de Los Habanos factory. And El Titan de Bronze was literally across the street.

Since parting ways with General Cigars, Ernesto Perez Carrillo created an even bigger name for himself with several award-winning blends. Those awards include the #1 position on Cigar Aficionado’s top 25 of 2018 with the Encore blend. And his La Alianza factory has become a household name with a reputation so strong that companies such as Royal Agio and Alec Bradley collaborated. Perez Carrillo worked with Royal Agio on the Balmoral Series Signaturas Dueto. And for Alec Bradley, he produces the Gatekeeper.
