The building, originally named "The Station Bar," was constructed in 1896 by James Campbell, a sea captain, and boasts a distinctive design resembling a small ship. Within the title deeds lies a historical pledge dating back to 1963, indicating that if the railway were to return to Aberlour, the pub would revert to its original name, "The Station Bar." However, the present name finds its inspiration in the whisky and brewing domain, symbolizing the significant vessel where malted barley meets water and yeast – a fundamental process in the craft.
